Sikkim

Sikkim is a small Himalayan state in Northeast India, between Nepal, China and Bhutan. Its capital is Gangtok. Kangchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world, rises on its western border, and Khangchendzonga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Travellers come for Gangtok, Tsomgo Lake, the monasteries of Rumtek and Pemayangtse, Pelling, Ravangla, Namchi, the valleys of Lachung and Yumthang in the north and much more. Sikkim was declared India's first fully organic state in 2016. Losoong, Losar, Saga Dawa, Pang Lhabsol and many more festivals are held through the year.

The best time to visit Sikkim is March to May and October to December. Some areas, such as North Sikkim and Nathula, need a permit.
