Corporate offsites and leadership retreats

An offsite works when the team leaves with something it could not have reached in the office. That depends less on the agenda than on the place, the pace and how much time people spend together without a screen. We plan retreats with the method set out in how to plan a corporate retreat people actually remember, which we call Journey Architecture.

Choosing an offsite destination in India

The right destination depends on what the group is for. A leadership team deciding strategy needs quiet and short days. A sales team being rewarded needs something worth talking about afterwards. The best corporate offsite destinations in India are compared by what each one does for a group, not by a list of resorts. Several of our published journeys, including the Himachal Serenity Sojourn, can be run for a group.

Incentive trips and dealer programmes

An incentive trip or a dealer meet is a relationship spent in one place for a few days. People remember who they sat beside on a long drive more than the presentation on the second morning. Shared journeys build customer and dealer relationships in ways a hotel ballroom cannot, and we plan the travel so that those conversations have room to happen.

Conferences and exhibitions away from the big cities

A conference outside a metro asks more of the planning. Flights may be few, rooms may be spread across several properties and the venue may have never hosted a hundred people. We work out the rooms, the transfers, the power, the food and the backup before anybody books a flight.

The logistics that decide a group trip

Most group trips that go wrong go wrong over something small. Honda Drive to Discover season 9 ran in June 2019. It was planned under ScoutMyTrip, a previous venture led by members of what is now the Pollen Dots leadership team. On Majuli island, the convoy stayed in rooms with no air conditioning and no ice. The journalists wrote warmly about the heritage rooms. The client team was unhappy, and it came close to a serious argument.

The rooms were not the cause. The arrangement had been explained to a team rather than to one named person, and "basic" meant something different to everyone. Every group plan needs one named person on each side, and the same meaning for the words both sides use.
